The Greenhouse Store: Discover Our Impressive Staghorn Ferns
Explore Our Captivating Staghorn Ferns
Staghorn Ferns, Platycerium bifurcatum, are a long-loved epiphytic species native to Southeast Asia. These remarkable ferns thrive in tropical and subtropical climates, such as in Florida (USDA 9a and warmer), where they can be permanently attached to the base of Southern Live Oaks, growing around the tree's branches.
When cultivated outdoors, Staghorn Ferns relish dappled light, ample humidity, and good air circulation. Display your air plants in a natural way, allowing them to attach themselves to the branches of trees, just as they would in their natural habitat.
Sustainably Grown in Florida
The Evergrowing is proud to offer these impressive Staghorn Ferns, which are sustainably cultivated in Florida. Your Staghorn can become a stunning specimen due to its continuous growth. You can suspend the plant from tree branches with a rope or chain, allowing it to take on a symmetrical shape.
Product Details
AIR PLANT SIZE: The Staghorn Fern Mounted on a Cedar Plank is approximately 12 Inches in Width and 12 Inches in Height. The Leaf Length is 10-18 Inches.
Our plants are mounted and have naturally attached themselves to a thick cedar plank with their shield (also known as basal fronds) and include a hook for hanging. They each have 4-7 antler fronds that are 10-18 inches long.
In climates with regular winter freezes, treat your Staghorn as you would an indoor air plant: Provide them bright light and a heavy misting once a week.
Multiple Uses for Air Plants
Air plants add beauty to indoor and outdoor spaces. Place them in terrariums, wall planters, containers, globes, and use them to stylize vertical garden displays. As a succulent alternative, Tillandsia (air plants) can decorate events like weddings, birthdays, and Christmas. Use them as party favors, centerpieces, or as unique gifts.
Easy-to-Care-For Air Plants
Air Plants (Genus: Tillandsia) are hardy bromeliad plants from Central and South America that don't require soil to grow. Simply soak them in water for 20 to 30 minutes once a week and let them dry out. They require indirect, but bright light. A care instruction card from Air Plant Shop will be included in every order.
Hand-Packaged & Picked with Care
Our shippers are trained to only send the healthiest living plants. We pack every kit and plant assortment with quality and care. All our plants come with a health guarantee. Let us know if you are not completely satisfied with your order, and we will send you new plants.
About Blooming & Color
Plants will not always arrive in bloom with red and purple color. However, most will bloom 2-3 times a year. See photos for what the non-blooming green plants look like.
