Our epiphytic Orchids are grown in pots within our collections for our convenience. In their natural environment, they attach their root system to a natural substrate and obtain moisture and nutrients from the surrounding ecosystem. Until now, if we wanted to recreate a realistic setup, we could train them onto a piece of cork, mount them on a tree branch, or place them in a wooden Vanda Basket. However, in this contemporary age, we now have a fourth option.

Most of our plants are no longer the original Species found in nature, and now the Orchid Mount used to grow them is also a hybrid in a modern, functional configuration. This is a Flat Orchid Mount that can be suspended horizontally or vertically, or hung from one corner. The advantage is that the plants get more air circulation through the root system and a larger surface area for water and fertilizer contact.

These Flat Orchid Mounts are constructed using Honduranian hardwoods. Interestingly, these mounts are also PERFECT FOR STAGHORN FERNS! Due to the many different ways of using and hanging these mounts, we do not include any sort of hanging hardware. We stock 4 different sizes of Flat Mounts: 6x6, 8x8, 10x10, and 12x12.
